Accessibility
Maison La Vesée is a former farmhouse. One apartment is on a single level, the other two are duplexes. Rather than writing that the place is "accessible" — a word that means nothing until you know accessible to whom — we would rather describe precisely what is there, so that you can decide for yourself.
Our three apartments
Nymphéa — single level
A one-room studio, with no stairs. The bed, the dining area, the kitchen, the shower room and the adjoining toilet are all on the same level. This is the apartment we recommend to anyone with reduced mobility.
One reservation, and it matters: the shower has a threshold of about 10 cm. It is not a level-access shower, and if that detail is decisive for you, better to know now.
The doors are 80 to 90 cm wide at the least. We have not yet recorded the clear opening width, which is the measurement that matters for a wheelchair: if it determines your stay, ask us.
Alpinia — duplex
The bedroom, the living room and the only shower room are upstairs, reached by a staircase. The ground floor holds only the open kitchen, the dining area and a separate toilet. Alpinia is not suitable for anyone who cannot climb stairs: there is neither a bed nor a shower downstairs.
Heliconia — family duplex
Both bedrooms and the shower room are upstairs. The ground floor holds the living room, the open kitchen, a separate toilet and a bathroom with a bath-shower — but there is no bed down there. Heliconia is therefore not suitable either for anyone who cannot climb stairs.
Parking
Free outdoor parking is reserved for residents, immediately next to the apartments.
Guide dogs and assistance dogs
Guide dogs and assistance dogs accompanying a person with a disability are admitted as of right, at no extra charge. Just tell us the dog is coming.
What we provide
Every apartment has a remote control with large buttons, chosen for visual difficulties — it is already there, nothing to ask for. We also provide, on request, a shower seat or stool and a removable grab bar. Please ask before you arrive rather than once you are here.
Travelling with a small child
On request made before arrival, we provide free of charge a travel cot, a high chair and a potty. Ask when you book rather than when you arrive: that is what lets us have everything ready before you get here.
The pool and the spa
The heated outdoor pool, open in season, measures 4.30 m by 9.50 m, with a depth running from 1.00 to 1.50 m and a 30 cm paddling area.
Two steps separate the path from the deck, and there is no entry device — no hoist, no submerged ramp. The pool is not adapted for people with reduced mobility, and the spa is not accessible.
